Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Uphook, operated from Kolkata, India. By creating an account or using uphook.ai, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Uphook does

Uphook collects job listings published by employers, reads your resume, and ranks those listings by how well they appear to fit your experience, skills and stated preferences. For each role we show a fit score and the reasoning behind it.

Uphook is not, and does not act as:

• a recruitment agency or placement service;
• an employer, or an agent of any employer;
• a party to anything between you and an employer, including your application, interview or offer.

When you apply for a role, you leave Uphook and deal with the employer directly, under their terms.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 to use Uphook.
• Give accurate information. A resume that misrepresents your experience produces matches that waste your own time.
• Your account is yours alone. Do not share access, and tell us if you think someone else has it.
• Only upload a resume that is yours, or one you have permission to upload.

4. What you may not do

• Scrape, bulk-download, mirror or resell our job index or match results.
• Use automated tools to access the service beyond normal browsing.
• Attempt to access another user's account, data or resume.
• Probe, disrupt or overload our systems, or work around any security or rate limit.
• Upload malware, or content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.
• Use Uphook to harvest candidate data for recruiting or marketing.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of these.

5. Job listings and match scores

Listings originate from employers' own recruitment systems and public career pages. We refresh them regularly, but we do not control them. So:

• A role may be filled, withdrawn or changed before our copy updates.
• Details such as salary, location or seniority are as the employer published them, and may be wrong or incomplete.
• Our index does not cover every job in the market, and coverage varies by city, sector and seniority.
• We do not endorse any employer or verify that a listing is genuine. Apply the same caution you would anywhere else, and never pay a fee to obtain a job.

6. Your content

Your resume and profile remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them purely to operate the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not send your resume to employers or recruiters.

7. Our content

The Uphook name, interface, matching system and skills taxonomy are ours or our licensors'. You may use the service, but these terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

8. Availability and changes

Uphook is offered free of charge and provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Where a change materially reduces what you get, we will give reasonable notice.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Uphook is not liable for lost job opportunities, lost earnings, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including from a match score, a missing role, or an inaccurate listing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Uphook and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing nitin@uphook.ai. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for material changes we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Uphook after that means you accept the updated terms.
